  • ENG W206  Introduction to Creative Writing. Gateway course to the CW concentration and minor. Introduction to and practice in three genres: fiction, poetry and nonfiction. QM-Certified in 2022.
  • ENG W231  Professional Writing Skills. Online version of second course in composition sequence, designed to meet campus standards for quality online course delivery, for use by adjunct faculty.
  • ENG W301 Intermediate Fiction Writing. Studio course in elements of and approaches to writing short fiction.
  • ENG W323 Digital Writing. Rhetoric of digital writing, approaches to writing in virtual spaces, introduction to HTML and development of personal website.
  • ENG W401  Advanced Fiction Writing. Studio course in advanced elements and approaches to writing short fiction, with a focus on the short story cycle.
  • ENG W411  Senior Seminar in Creative Writing. Capstone for the creative writing concentration, with an emphasis on experiment  and revision, leading to creation of a polished portfolio.
  • ENG W508  Graduate Creative Writing for Teachers. Pedagogical approaches to teaching creative writing at the secondary level.
  • ENG W511  Graduate Fiction Writing. Graduate level workshop in fiction, with a focus on the short story. Taught both in person and online.
  • ENG W611  Fiction Writing I. Continuation of topics introduced in W511, with a focus on revision.
  • ENG L646   Readings in Media, Literature and Culture. Introductory study of issues in literary editing, textual culture, or digital humanities. Topic examines interactive digital narratives, including history, emergent theory, pedagogical approaches and student’s development of original work.
  • ENG W682  Special Topics in Rhetoric & Composition: Digital Writing. Graduate course exploring digital writing in various forms. Independent study and  internship with the Journal of Student Research at IU East.
